Rehab Horses
Africa, a 2 year old paint filly, unbroke and
untouchable when arriving at RCER. She is now halter broke,
gentle and started under saddle. X-rays show that Africa has
OCD, in her right hind leg, due to poor nutrition as a foal. The
surgery is approx $2000. The prognosis is that she will be
completely sound with surgery, but without it she will become
unsound & arthritic, shortening her lifespan to 6 or 8 years.
Update; The funds for Africa's
surgery have raised & surgery will be performed on March 23rd.
She has been adopted |

Willow, a weanling about seven months old at the time on intake. He had painful rain rot patches on his back that will leave lifetime white hair patches. Full of worms & under nourished, he was not halter broke. Two weeks into rehab, he is walking politely on a
lead and learning to trust people.
Update; Willow has found his forever home |
