Rehab Horses

 

Payton a coming 4 yr old registered Paint Mare. She has been foundered and is currently in re-hab for the laminitis. Her coffin bone was rotated thru the sole of her hoof when she arrived at RCER. She is now being worked on by a natural care farrier and is expected to make a full recovery by summer of 2008.

            ***Update***

 5 months into rehab, Payton is standing normally and running and playing. Well on the way to a full recovery. She is available for adoption.

Moonlite a 16 yr old Polish Arab was placed in rehab in for obesity. She scored a 9 on the Henneke scale & has founder issues as a result.

Moonlight has proven to be a nice riding mare and has been adopted.

 
Jimmy a 20 year old Clydesdale, standing 17.3 hands. At intake he scored 1.5 Henneke scale, weighing only 1314 lbs. He came to us with mites in the feathers of his legs, loaded with worms, maggots in the crack in his hoof, and needing his teeth floated.

Jimmy has been adopted & is doing well in his new home.
